Biography: Prof. Ye-Tang Pan is a Senior Researcher and PhD advisor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology. He obtained his PhD degree from the Technical University of Madrid, Spain in 2018. His main research interests are fire-safe functional polymeric materials. Based on the National Engineering Research Centre of Flame Retardant Materials, he has published more than 150 SCI papers with an H-index of 50 and presided over more than 10 projects at the national or provincial levels. He is the Editorial Board Member of several academic journals, such as Materials, Journal of Polymer Materials, etc.

Abstract: Traditional porous materials such as foams and aerogels exhibit excellent thermal insulation performance, yet they suffer from single function and high flammability, which severely restricts their practical applications. Focusing on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), a cutting-edge Nobel Prize-winning material, Pan’s group has systematically engineered the microstructure of porous materials via bottom-up construction and top-down post-synthetic modification. This strategy endows porous materials with versatile functionalities including electromagnetic wave absorption, infrared stealth, and sound absorption, while effectively improving their fire safety. This report summarises our recent research on MOF-based multifunctional porous materials with enhanced fire safety, aiming to provide new insights for the development of next-generation high-performance and safe porous materials.
